I have loved every minute of my martial arts experience, from learning new techniques and competing, to instructing. Over the years I have competed in many tournaments, both locally and nationally, with my results placing from 1st to last place. There will always be someone that is better than you in some area, but the best martial artist see it as an opportunity to learn and progress to another level.

My favorite part of instructing is seeing my students develop into martial artists that apply high attention for detail in everything they do.

I have learned different aspects of the martial arts from many different talented instructors and contribute much of my teaching style to working with Mr. Welch for the last few years. One of the most important things I have learned from martial arts is how to establish short-term to accomplish long-term dreams.

Martial Arts are a very important part of my life. Since beginning karate, I have learned a great many things about life, including self confidence, public speaking, physical fitness, and human anatomy. I have competed in numerous tournaments both local and national and still love to compete.

After graduating from high school, I decided to join an international missions group called, “ Impact World Tour.” The Impact World Tour’s mission is to tell people across the world about our beliefs in Jesus Christ. Through this group I have had the opportunity to demonstrate martial arts and speak in front of groups ranging in size from fifty people to a few thousand people. Also through this group I had the opportunity to go into middle schools, high school, and colleges across the world and talk about saying no to drugs and underage drinking. My martial arts training prepared me for all of this.

I traveled with the Impact World Tour for about a year and half and spent a considerable amount of time in five different nations across the globe. I have had the opportunity to train in different martial arts establishments within each country, among other things, learning Capoeira and very traditional Tae Kwon Do in Brazil.

I have been mentored by and teaching martial arts with Mr. Welch for a several years and am very excited to be at Infinity Martial Arts.

Mr. Casey Rose

Leadership Team

I, Mr. Casey, am not a person of many words. Instead, I let my actions speak for me. I started karate when I was 5 ½ yrs old, and now am a 2nd degree Black Belt! There were a lot of tough times that I faced in my journey to black belt, but I always strived to over come them. My advice to all of you is never quit or give up on your goals. If I hadn’t followed this personal motto, I might still be a blue belt! I was a blue belt for one year and thought many times of quitting but I didn’t. Then I was a brown stripe for 9 months and again thought of giving up but I didn’t. I had one main goal: black belt. And I achieved it! I earned my 1st and 2nd degree black belt with Mr. Welch. My next goal is to get my 3rd degree black belt under Mr. Welch at Infinity Martial Arts.

I enjoy the high flying extreme karate with all the flips and such, but I like to spar and learn/perform traditional forms, too. I love to compete in all 3 divisions at tournaments. It’s not just about winning, either. It’s about watching and learning from the other people in my division and having a lot of fun at the same time (winning is just a bonus)!

Karate keeps me in shape for football and track, and has helped me become a better overall player. Most of all I love to assist/teach all the kids here at Infinity and I am glad Mr. Welch has given me the chance to do so along with you parents giving me the chance to assist your children.

Mr. Brad Rehrauer

My name is Brad Rehrauer and I was 5 years old when I started karate. I started at a school in my hometown. The school was Oregon Martial Arts and I learned the basics of a very traditional kind of karate. I stayed at Oregon Martial Arts until I earned my blue belt, then I decided to go to a karate school in Fitchburg because I wanted to learn extreme martial arts. I had to start over at white belt because the curriculum was so different. I learned the four forms there named Quest, Veritas, Chung Mu and Apocolypse. I progressed from white belt to brown stripe belt and left two months before I would have earned my black belt. It was a tough decision but after three years at that karate school, Mr. Welch fulfilled his dream to open his own karate school and since he was a great mentor to me, I left also to go and follow him to his karate school. I have been there for the past 2 years and continue to love karate. I started candidate class about 2 months after I arrived at Infinity. I was in candidate class for 4 months, and then the big day came, my black-belt test. I will never forget the date, Saturday, August 19, 2007. My black-belt test was 4 long, grueling hours, but worth every minute to achieve the goal I had set for myself five years earlier. After I received my black belt from Mr. Welch I started thinking about teaching and becoming a mentor to some other kids like Mr. Welch was to me. Helping under belt Infinity students progress to black-belt and gain lifelong memories that will never be forgotten, gives me great satisfaction. Keep working for your goals whether they are in karate, school or even a job you want to have when you grow up. Keep your head up never give up. That is the message I would like the students I teach to learn from me!!!

I am proud to call myself a black belt at Infinity Martial Arts!!!!!

It all started about three and a half years ago when I quit gymnastics and my brother had just started karate. So I decided I might try it. My first goal was to get on the performance team which is like Infini-team here. I also wanted to become a teacher when I was about an orange belt. Shortly after I broke my leg and was out of karate for 6 months! It was a hard thing to come back from. I had struggles and I got tired but I never gave up and I’m proud of myself because I look back and realize where I am now.

The thing I like most about martial arts is learning new forms and awesome tricks. When you can finally do a trick you get all excited and are really happy. And the thing I have to say I like most about teaching is being able to get to know each student and understand their strengths and weaknesses. I am able to the best of my ability teach them skills I have learned which is a huge deal to me. Of course I wouldn’t be teaching if it weren’t for Mr. Welch; he saw something more in me and brought it out. I am a different person now. Martial arts has brought so many things out of me that I didn’t think I had. I have learned to have more confidence in myself, believe that anything is possible and never give up.

The best advice I can give you guys as students is to always be open for new things and believe that you can accomplish them. Treat everyone with respect in your life, it will get you far. Compliment yourself once in a while. Everyone has bad days and on those days you just need to tell yourself that you are good at something. All you guys mean so much to me and it’s incredible for me to watch you grow and learn, not only in karate but as a person in general. Hope you love martial arts as much as I do! Never stop trying your best.

Ms. Ana Lindsay

I began martial arts when I was eight years old joining for the fun of it and the recommendation from friends. I remember during my intro class I was nervous, but the instructors made me feel comfortable and made it fun and interesting. Thinking back to that first day in 2004 to where I am now, I have learned so much from the martial arts. I have learned that karate is not only a sport; it is a lifestyle. In learning the art of karate we also add tools that help us outside of the martial arts world as well, including confidence, leadership, self-esteem, focus, perseverance, discipline, and more!
Training with Mr. Welch has influenced who I am. Earning my black belt from him at his school’s Infinity Martial Arts’ first black belt test was incredibly special, since I had trained with him since Gold belt. Mr. Welch has made an impact on me that makes me want to work hard and do my best. I can tell he loves what he does. He has a special connection to his students. I would love to strive to be like him, connecting and giving back to the martial arts.
My favorite thing about martial arts is that I’m in an atmosphere where people love karate as much as I do. I am able to share that same passion for something I love with others, making it all the more enjoyable. Being a part of Leadership Team helps me give back to the martial arts world by cycling through my students what I have learned on my journey so far. Teaching as well as working with teammates, and being taught, has immensely improved me, not only as a martial artist but as a person as well.

I’m so happy to be here at Infinity and had been given the gracious gifts of being on varsity demo team, being able to teach…etc. It’s all quiet amazing to think about for me.
