Infinity Martial Arts of Middleton, WI Announces Triple Growth in a Recessive Economy in Celebration of its 3rd Year Anniversary

 May 1, 2010

Madison, WI – Infinity Martial Arts recently celebrated its 3rd year anniversary as of April 2010 with triple growth attaining 150 students in spite of the economical recession.  Mike Welch, a 4th Degree Black Belt as well as Master Instructor and Owner of Infinity Martial Arts, attributes the success of the school to his staff as well as the devoted families that have made Infinity their “karate home”.  According to Mike, “I am humbled that the Infinity families continue to entrust my school with their karate instruction – both children and adults alike.  Their dedication to the martial arts and devoting their time to it is indeed a huge commitment for all of the families.  In return, all of the instructors work together as a cohesive unit in guiding each student to achieve his or her personal best through building self – confidence, developing a positive attitude, learning self –discipline, as well as improving physical fitness.  We create all champions here – whether they become world competitors in karate or leaders in other facets of life.”   Despite the economy, parents will continually strive to offer their children the opportunities that will give them the social, physical, and mental tools that will inevitably prepare them for a successful future.  As stated by Erika Schremp, mother of two karate students at Infinity Martial Arts, “Infinity continues to thrive on account of its strong referral base.  The instruction is great in technique and applies to everyday life – whether it be mental focus, fitness or confidence.  All of these things we wish for our kids to conquer in their lifetime.  Instilling these valuable lessons at an early age, much like Infinity has been doing for the last three years will help mold them into model citizens and future leaders for our community.”  Anne Gustafson, another “karate mom” adds, “Mr. Welch is a terrific instructor.  He understands the kids and knows how to talk to them in a way that makes them want to do their best.  He has high expectations for the kids not just in his classes but at home and at school.”

Another reason for the success of the school is on account of the variety of programs Infinity has to offer.  Although the focus of Infinity is to teach students (both children and adults) karate and practical self – defense; there are other specialized programs as well for those individuals who may be interested in a different fitness format.  These programs include Turbo Kick classes (Turbo Kick is a highly evolved form of cardio-kickboxing), personal fitness training, and a Yoga Fusion class which will be added in the summer due to popular demand.   According to Rania El-Desoki, “Infinity Martial Arts is like a second home to us now.  Amna (my daughter) has that sense of happiness and belonging to the school, which makes her very confident while taking her classes; and as for myself, it is the only “Me Time” I get all week.”  Rania has the unique experience of taking advantage of all the programs that Infinity has available.  When asked about the Turbo Kick classes, she responded, “For one hour – twice a week, I only focus on myself and what my body needs from me, and in return what I then need to do for my body. It’s a lot of fun – a very friendly environment with intense movements. I have come a long way within a year of attending the TK classes.  I have discovered that my body is capable of many things physically that I never thought were possible.  Having the opportunity to burn up to 1000 calories is just an added bonus.”  With regards to the personal fitness training, Rania adds, “It was the best decision I ever made! In addition to the TK classes which combat the entire body, I’m focusing on the areas of my body that I felt needed toning and re-shaping. I’m pushed past my comfort zone physically with each session and on account of it – I can visibly see the results. The one-on-one time I spend with Deanna (the personal trainer) is very beneficial. It helps me feel stronger mentally and physically so that I am reaching my personal fitness goals.”

Infinity Martial Arts of Middleton, WI Raises over $5,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County

July 1, 2009

Madison, WI The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County recently announced a financial contribution of over $5,000 from the Infinity Martial Arts Dojo located in Middleton, WI thanks to a very successful Kick-A-Thon which recently took place on June 6th, 2009 at the Middleton High School.

Students of Infinity Martial Arts collected pledges from family and friends in the weeks leading up to as well as several weeks following the Kick-A-Thon for the number of Front Leg Front Kicks each student thought that he or she would be able to throw within a 15 second time period.  They had 2 attempts at this challenge which allowed them the opportunity to outperform their first effort.  The students’ hard work resulted in raising over $5,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County.  This contribution will allow the organization to make several hundred matches between caring adult volunteers and children who are ready and waiting for a “Big Brother” or “Big Sister”.

The event was open to the public so that children and adults alike involved in the program (as well as the general public) would be able to see the exciting display of Karate athleticism as well as participate in a variety of other fun-filled activities that took place that day.  These activities included Hip-Hop dance lessons by Siren Fitness, a Bounce House provided by Fun Play Inflatables; individual karate lessons and an entertaining game of Karate Dodge Ball.  Quaker Steak and Lube provided food for the occasion.  According to Mike Welch, owner of Infinity Martial Arts, “As a karate school, we were excited to be able to give back to the community.  I’m very proud of the students at my school and the effort they put forth in not only collecting pledges for this worthy organization; but also the enthusiasm and energy they exuded the day of the big event.”

Deanna Kane, mother of 3 children that are students at Infinity Martial Arts, added, “The opportunity to relay to a child  what raising money can do for an organization such as Big Brothers Big Sisters is such an important character-building lesson in compassion and love.  Our children were given the ability to learn how to freely give with an open heart to others by actively participating in this exciting fundraising event.”

In addition to the $5,000 raised by the Infinity karate students, Big Brothers Big Sisters has a private donor who is very familiar with the program and has pledged to match all funds raised this year up to $40,000.  Therefore, every dollar raised at the Kick-A-Thon will be matched by this generous donor totaling the dollars raised to $10,000.

As stated by Dora Zuniga, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County, “The Kick-A-Thon was a wonderful event that gave the students of Infinity Martial Arts a healthy and rewarding way to support their community.  I was so pleased to see the commitment from these kids. From the bottom of my heart I thank Infinity Martial Arts, all the family and friends of the students, and Mike Welch for their support and for putting on a fun time for all. Infinity Martial Arts Announces New Interactive Website for Families Devoted to the Martial Arts and Karate

April 24, 2009

Middleton, WI – Infinity Martial Arts has just concluded a four – month website upgrade to assist families in gaining a better understanding of the many options available within the martial arts arena to children and adults of all ages.  The innovative website features a number of interactive menus for families interested in beginning karate, as well as the current families that are already students of the school.

According to Mike Welch, Owner and Master Instructor of Infinity Martial Arts, “the new website design was instrumental for Infinity’s continued growth and community outreach; the user-friendly environment of the site strongly correlates to the way in which we engage our students and families.  We differentiate ourselves in the martial arts community by designing our programs that allow each individual student to grow at his or her own pace.  We believe in positive support and encouragement with an emphasis on self – development which you may not find in other extracurricular or sports related activities.”  Mike Welch is a 4th Degree Black Belt and is nationally recognized as a heavy competitor by the NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association) circuit.  All of the instructors at Infinity have dedicated themselves to guiding each student in achieving their personal best through building self – confidence, developing a positive attitude, gaining self –discipline, as well as improving physical fitness.

The new website has also been designed as a communication tool for the current Infinity families for news and events and how it relates to the school and the community.  Gretchen Rehrauer, mother of 2 children under the instruction of Mike Welch states, “Mr. Welch not only has a gift to teach the martial arts, but he is a great role model and genuinely cares about his students; not only their achievements in the martial arts, but their every day life achievements as well. Each day that we attend an Infinity Martial Arts class or event, Mr. Welch exudes enthusiasm and demonstrates true joy as he simultaneously instructs and inspires his students. This positive attitude and energy is a gift that Mr. Welch has shared with our children from the very beginning. We are not only very grateful for his talents and skills, but we also appreciate his time and consideration for our entire family.”

The dynamic videos that are embedded in the site give a potential karate family great insight into the quality of the programs that Infinity has to offer including both extreme martial arts and traditional.  Furthermore, Infinity also offers a cardio-kickboxing class for adults that may not be interested in karate but would like to participate in a high fat – burning cardio endurance fitness class while learning empowering moves taken from the martial arts.
